The 2013 Taurus is on Its Way

There are sundry changes being made on the Taurus this year, but the result will be the same robust Taurus we already know and love. To be sure, the 2013 Taurus will undergo a few cosmetic changes for 2013 such as a new headlight and hexagon grille design that’’s sure to please drivers in Oswego and Naperville, but we can all expect a continuation of Ford’s quality design.

Furthermore, the Taurus is getting a little beefier next year; insofar as its 3.5L V6 engine will gain nearly 30 hp,  putting out an intimidating 290 hp overall. Also, the powertrain will be somewhat more fuel efficient with an anticipated fuel economy of 28 mpg highway. If that rating is not high enough, however, Oswego, Aurora, Naperville, Montgomery, and greater Chicago-area drivers will have the option of a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine on the 2013 Taurus that can achieve a better combined city and highway fuel economy of 31 mpg while producing 237 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque. The SHO trim package will feature the most powerful drivetrain available with 365 hp, but its fuel efficiency has not been rated or released yet.

One element that has drivers in Aurora and Montgomery very excited is the 2013 Taurus’s inclusion of the MyFord Touch System, which replaces traditional button displays with a sensitive touch screen display. There are also new luxury features on the 2013 Taurus that were hitherto unavailable, like a heated steering wheel, massaging seats, and a powered rear window shade.
