The 2013 Ford Transit Connect is Heading to Oswego and Montgomery

New for the 2013 Transit Connect
Drivers in Naperville and Aurora may be surprised that Ford is actually phasing out its E-Series van in favor of the 2013 Transit Connect, which will be called the T-Series in the United States. This is less surprising, however, when you take into account that the E-Series van, while reliable, hasn’t been updated since 1998, and it’s fuel economy reflects that.Ford is working to make drivers in Oswego and Montgomery forget the E-Series by making the 2013 Transit Connect better in every way. According to Ford, the Transit Connect will have at least 25% better fuel economy than the E-Series, in part due to a weight reduction of about 300 pounds. In Europe, the Transit Connect provides two engine options: a 2.2L four-cylinder turbo-diesel or a 3.2L five-cylinder turbo-diesel. We can expect something similar in the US, along with, possibly, the option of either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. Ford is currently testing the 2013 Transit Connect to ensure that it’s just as durable — if not more so — than the departing E-series line, which will allow drivers all over the country to breathe a sigh of relief.
