I am one of 5 children.  I am a graduate of Montini High School and Bradley University.  I started in the Automotive industry as a child by going to my Father’s dealership, River Oaks Ford in Calumet City.  After 47 years in Calumet City we moved to Oswego in 2009.  None of my siblings ventured into the business.  Why me?  I love people – ask anyone!  I feel the best part of this business is the wonderful people I work with and the great friends I meet every day.

The experience we provide is one that is truly amazing and different than other dealerships.  It is friendly, family driven, and enjoyable!  Please read our reviews – I guarantee you will leave here with a great vehicle, at a good price AND you will be thrilled!  My business is forged by word of mouth and by customers that buy over and over again (the sincerest form of thanks is a referral and I am proud to say we get so many).  One great friend said to me, “John your business is not a transaction – it is a relationship”.  That is exactly why I am in this business!

I have served on the prestigious Chicago Automobile Trade Association for 9 years.  The CATA works directly with the Attorney General of Illinois to make sure dealers uphold the highest standards in automotive sales.  To be on the Board, one has to be elected by it’s over 400 dealer members.  I was honored to be named Chairman of the 2018 Chicago Auto Show.

My hobbies are very simple.  I spend time with my wife and family, play basketball, and decorate for Christmas!  If you have never been to River View Ford’s Santa event, please do stop by.  It is a wonderful time to see Santa, get a picture taken, get gifts, and spread Holiday cheer with us.  I hope to meet you someday!  I am always at the Store available to help you or to just say “Hi”.

I have worked for the Hennessy’s for over 20 years.  I followed in my Father’s footsteps as he worked for the Hennessy’s for over 36 years.  I began working full time the day after I graduated from Elmhurst College.

I live in Plainfield with my awesome wife, two daughters and two dogs!  We definitely have dog lovers in my house!  My hobbies include golfing with my oldest daughter and watching my youngest daughter play travel softball.

I began my Automotive career in 1983 in Hammond, Indiana and never looked back.  I started with the Hennessy family in 1985.  Customer Service was instilled into me and our team from day one!

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my Son Gage, family, and friends.  I enjoy watching sports – especially the Blackhawks and the Chicago White Sox.

I have been working for John Hennessy for over 26 years.  At the start I worked at the River Oaks location that was close to the Indiana border.  I live in Indiana and I drive over an hour each way to be at River View Ford.  Why?  Once our clients experience the Hennessy difference – they get it!  We have many clients from the Indiana area that travel here just because of the way we do business – it really is different from other stores.  By me still living in Indiana, I am able to continue our relationship with them by switching out vehicles with them for service, etc. to save them time and continuing what I believe is excellent Customer Service – which again is the Hennessy difference!

On a personal note,  I enjoy dinners, movies, and concerts with my friends when time permits (also a bit of travelling).  My interests include working out 5 days a week – without exception.  I am a mixed martial arts fan, enjoy a good football game, and am a motorcycle and car enthusiast.

And the alligator wrestling stories about me – are indeed true!

I have been in the Automotive business since 2004 – all with the Hennessy family.  I am currently a Sales Manager here.

I am originally from Chicago, but now Plainfield is home.  If you do not find me here, I am at the gym!
