2018 Mustang

After its sixth-generation success, Ford was ready to give the 2018 Mustang a redesign, refreshing the way the pony car looks on the outside and improving the way it works under the hood. Explore the changes to the latest edition of Ford’s iconic muscle car and see why we think, this might be the best Ford Mustang yet.

Ford Mustang Changes

For the exterior updates, Ford looked to Mustangs of the past drawing inspiration from previous models, adding a narrow, aggressive grille and low-profile front fascia. The overall impression results in a more determined look to the car, as though it’s ready to prove it can win at any cost.

The thinner grille isn’t the only exterior change. Ford has also added standard high-performance LED headlamps for better visibility when cruising Plainfield’s dark roads at night, chrome Mustang emblems, and a rear light bar that curves, providing a futuristic look to the coupe, which you’ll only see as it passes by.

The interior of this crowd favorite is graced with updates as well, gaining access to SYNC Connect with FordPass technology, a customizable 12-inch digital display cluster, options like a heated steering wheel and the ability to use Alexa voice-recognition software to get information about that hot new place in Aurora, or take advantage of any of the 30,000 skills programmed into compatible devices.

Enhanced Handling

Perhaps the most exciting change to the 2018 Ford Mustang is the way it handles. Not only will Naperville performance enthusiasts be able to change the drive mode to suit their mood, but the 2.3L EcoBoost engine will deliver 350 lb-ft of torque, making this the most powerful Mustang 4-cylinder engine ever to hit the road. The available V8 is no slouch either, bringing 460 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque to the GT trim. Ford will also offer a 10-speed automatic transmission with the new Mustang, providing a smoother, more responsive driving experience for those who want the car to take control, and paddle shifters for drivers who prefer to take charge themselves.

Other performance features including Launch Control and Electronic Line-Lock (for track use only) provide additional stability and control on takeoff, ensuring the Mustang reacts properly to your commands.
