2015 Ford Mustang

River View Ford is excited to report that the all-new 2015 Mustang is coming soon and will be better than ever, with enhanced engine options for more power and better fuel economy. Paired with either a manual or automatic transmission, you can’t go wrong with whichever option you prefer.

EcoBoost Technology

With the 2015 Mustang, drivers really can have the best of both worlds. You won’t have to sacrifice the legendary power and performance the Mustang is known for to have segment-leading fuel efficiency. This turbocharged engine is expected to deliver impressive figures including 305-plus hp in addition to 300-plus lb-ft of torque.

Iconic Power

At the heart of every Mustang lineup, there is a robust V8 engine. The 2015 Mustang can be equipped with a 5.0L V8 that has taken some design cues from the special edition 2013 Mustang Boss 302. One of the main keys to generating more power is improving air flow into the cylinders and getting exhaust out. The V8 engine available on the latest Ford Mustang inlcudes:

  • Bigger intake and exhaust valves
  • Revised intake and exhaust camshafts
  • Redesigned piston tops with deeper cutouts to accommodate the larger valves
  • Stiffer valve springs, which helps to make sure the valves completely close at high RPM levels.

It is likely that these enhancements will help the engine provide more than 420 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque.

Improved Transmission Choices

No matter if you prefer a fully manual transmission or the updated automatic option, you can expect a driving experience with the 2015 Mustang that is even better than with previous models.

The Getrag manual offers a new shift linkage design. This allows for better precision and shorter throws. The shifter is now located even closer to the driver, and this more functional position gives drivers a completely clear shifting path.

A redesigned case on the automatic transmission decreases some of the weight. A ball-bearing supports the output shaft, which means the Mustang GT can hit speeds of up to 155 mph. Either way, the power and speed you expect from a Mustang will be readily available no matter which powertrain configuration you choose.
